What is AI Training for IT Companies and GCCs?

AI Training for IT Companies & GCCs is private, role-based training for software engineering, QA, data, platform, product, delivery, presales and leadership teams. It can range from using AI safely in daily work to building LLM applications, RAG, agents, evaluation, LLMOps and cloud design. A mixed company should not get one generic agenda: everyday use, engineering and leadership tracks share the basics but need different skills, exercises and evidence. Client code, passwords and live data stay out of training unless an approved setup and access rules are agreed in writing. It includes GenAI training for IT teams in delivery, support and engineering.

Who this page is for

Relevant audiences

  • Software engineering, QA and architecture teams
  • Data, ML, platform, cloud and DevOps teams
  • Product, programme, delivery and presales teams
  • Engineering managers, L&D leads and GCC leaders

Useful when

  • Coding assistants are in use, but quality, security and review habits vary
  • Teams need to move from demos to LLM applications that are properly tested
  • Business and delivery staff need to be comfortable with AI without a developer course
  • L&D needs a planned academy across job families and skill levels

Scope boundary: Training does not give production access, certify a system as secure or compliant, or promise delivery, hiring or client results. You own tool approval, repositories, release controls and promises to clients.

Decision guide

Map skills by role before you fill a course calendar

Access to tools is only one part of it. The role, the work, the starting skills and the evidence decide the right route.

User, builder or decision-maker?

Keep staff who use AI, engineers who build AI systems and leaders who approve spending or release apart.

Which engineering setup?

Confirm the languages, repositories, development process, cloud, model providers, data stores and delivery limits.

What can go into the tool?

Set clear rules for source code, client data, passwords, logs, prompts, how long data is kept and connected systems.

What proves the skill?

Use checked tasks, test results, design decisions and project work, not attendance alone.

Technology tasks

Practise AI across engineering and delivery, with the controls in plain view

The programme can use general patterns or your approved platforms, and it always makes clear who reviews and who releases.

Coding and code review with AI

Use an approved assistant to explain, draft, test or refactor a small piece of code.

Practise
Check requirements, licences, security, tests, speed and how easy the code is to maintain before merging.
Control
Code is not trusted, ready for production or approved just because it runs.

LLM features and RAG design

Design the retrieval, prompts, context and answers for an app that answers from your sources.

Practise
Test source coverage, access limits, citations, failure cases and answer quality.
Control
A working demo does not prove accuracy, security, scale or value in production.

Evaluation and LLMOps

Build realistic test cases, measures, traces and release rules for an AI feature.

Practise
Combine automatic checks with expert review, and watch for failures after each change.
Control
One benchmark or model score cannot approve a system for every use.

Cloud design choices

Compare managed services, model access, ways to deploy and the running trade-offs.

Practise
Write down the data flow, identity, monitoring, cost assumptions, how portable it is and how it can fail.
Control
Training diagrams need your architecture, security and platform teams to review them before any build.

Product and use definition

Turn a business problem into users, jobs, limits, tests and an experiment plan.

Practise
Check whether AI is really needed, and set a non-AI or human starting point to compare against.
Control
Novelty, model power and excitement are not proof that a product is worth building.

Checking delivery and proposals

Review AI solution write-ups, estimates, dependencies, risks and evidence for client work.

Practise
Keep what has been shown to work, assumptions, dependencies and promises apart.
Control
AI cannot approve scope, price, security, staffing or contract claims.

Compare the paths

Using AI in delivery versus engineering AI

Both need safe use, but being good with business AI tools does not mean someone can build AI systems.

Practical value

What your company should be able to check

A skills programme should leave evidence for each role, each task and each system.

Role-to-skill map

Each job family has a target level, what it needs first and a practice route.

Engineering work others can check

Code, prompts, retrieval, tests and design decisions stay open to review.

Testing habits

Realistic cases, failure analysis and release rules come before any model or prompt change.

A plan to measure it all

Skills, take-up, task quality and business results are tracked separately.

Method

From your first call to skills used at work

The same five steps every time keep the training tied to your team’s real work, with the costs and delivery details set out in writing.

  1. 01

    Talk to our L&D lead

Chandan, our corporate L&D expert, asks who the training is for, what they need, any limits on delivery and what should change afterwards.

  2. 02

    Expert check

A Technovids subject expert checks your team’s starting level, tools, examples, risks and the output you want.

  3. 03

    Written proposal

It confirms the agenda, format, dates, group size, what is included and excluded, and the price.

  4. 04

    Live training

Short explanations, demos, practice and feedback, ending with a task from your team’s own work.

  5. 05

    Handover

Your team keeps the agreed templates and work, and you receive the completion or follow-up details set out in the proposal.

What you receive

What IT and GCC teams can take away

The proposal sets out what each route produces and who reviews it.

  • Skills matrix

Roles, levels, what each needs first, learning routes and how skills are assessed.

  • Engineering review checklist

Checks for requirements, code, tests, security, data, licences and maintainability.

  • AI testing plan

Test-set design, quality measures, types of failure, reviewers and release gates.

  • Adoption and pilot scorecard

Usage, task quality, effort, risk and business results for one defined task.

Safe application

Safe use is built into every exercise, not added at the end

Every programme teaches your people to work within your company’s rules, with a person clearly in charge of the result.

Use approved accounts and data

Your team learns what they can type into an AI tool, what must stay out, and when to use an approved workspace or a made-up example.

Check before you use it

Facts, sums, sources, tone and the effect on any decision are checked against the original material.

Keep a person in charge

AI can help with a step, but a named person still checks the output and owns the decision or message.

Measure one clear task

Teams compare quality, effort, risk and take-up on one defined task, instead of claiming general time savings.

Questions before deciding

Frequently asked questions

These answers cover what this page offers. Your written proposal sets out the terms for your own programme.

Can one programme serve developers, product teams and leaders?

They can share the basics, but the hands-on tracks should split. Developers need repositories, tests and engineering evaluation. Product and delivery teams need use cases and client evidence. Leaders need decisions on which projects to back, risk and how AI is run.

Can training align with our engineering stack and cloud?

Yes, once your approved languages, repositories, development process, model providers, data services and cloud limits are confirmed. Vendor-neutral options are still useful when you want skills that carry across tools.

Can participants use client code or production data?

Only with explicit permission and an approved setup. A safer default is a controlled repository and made-up or masked data, with no passwords or production access in training.

Does the programme cover RAG, AI agents and LLMOps?

Yes, in an engineering route for people with the right skills. The proposal states the depth, hands-on work, infrastructure needed, testing and what is left out.

Can Technovids train distributed GCC teams?

Yes. Private live online training works for teams in different places once time zones, group size, platform access and how sessions are run are agreed. Onsite delivery and scheduling across countries are confirmed in the proposal.

Are certificates recognised by specific employers?

Technovids can issue the completion certificate included in your programme. We do not claim that any employer, vendor or client endorses or recognises it unless that company has formally said so.
